The launch of a new console, especially a new Nintendo console is an awesome experience and I was lucky to enjoy the midnight launch and launch day happenings with my son and brother this go around.
We spent hours putting everything together, playing BOTW and Bomberman. Good times!
I was able to pick up my pre-orderd Switch at Gamestop’s midnight launch event, the crowd was surprisingly deeper than what I saw for the PS4 and everyone was excited for what Nintendo had in store for us die hard fans in the coming years.
The Pro Controller, Neon Red/Blue Joy-Cons, and a Joy-Con charging grip should provide lots of multiplayer fun!
Zelda BOTW was an obvious one, Bomberman is a great series and while this version seems rushed the multiplayer should deliver and 1-2 Switch seemed like an obvious choice for when we have people over.
I got the Best Buy Gamers Club Discount and used a coupon to get both Bomberman and 1-2 Switch, games that are questionably not worth the full retail asking price.
While I missed out on the Master Edition, the Special Edition is really nice and worth the extra cash. Not shown is the season pass I also purchased via the Nintendo E Shop!
The Breath of the Wild soundtrack, Collectable Coin and Switch carrying case!
Both sides of the Poster Gamestop was handing out at the launch event!
And of course the Breath of the Wild Amiibo, I really need to work on my lighting. Time to buy a light box kit perhaps?
So much Nintendo I thought I would add some Sega to the mix, the new retro shop in town had a U.S Master System II that had just arrived in a lot purchase they made. These models are extremely rare in my area, in fact I have never actually seen one in person either new at retail or used so I had to pick it up. It needs some serious cleaning but this knocks one off my wanted list!
The guy who runs the shop is a big fan of Atari as the in store stock shows, this will make it easy for me to work on that side of my collection since I have neglected that area. While I started on the Atari the NES is where I really fell in love with gaming, that said there is a lot to be had on the cheap with Atari!
