4K is awesome!

Amiibo, Classic Gaming, Collecting, Figures, Gaming, Nintendo, Sony, Xbox

I decided that it was time to make the move to 4K, with the Xbox One S and its HDR and 4K Blu ray capabilities, Netflix 4k streaming, PS4 Pro being available and Xbox Scorpio on the way I decided to make the leap.

The crappy cell phone picture above does not do it justice but the Sony 65-inch XBR65X900E TV is amazing, as a side note Abzu is an amazing.. artful gaming experience. SO GOOD!

With a new 4K TV the PS4 Pro only makes sense, I have only tried a few games but so far I really like the graphical updates provided, even if it is not “true 4K” PC game developers could learn a thing or two about the techniques applied as the raw horsepower required for full on PC gaming 4K are still REALLY steep for most setups.

I picked up a copy of Shenmue II as it was on my wanted list and with E3 coming up my assumption is that any Shenmue III announcements will make the cost of this skyrocket (Larrabee lock?), NieR: Automata was on sale at BestBuy so once combined with the GCD and a $5 credit I had it was a no brainer for something so highly praised and on my wanted list. I have only played it for about an hour so far but the game has thoroughly impressed in this short amount of time.

The latest Nintendo Switch lineup, Mario Kart 8 is amazing and even better than its original release, PuyoPuyo Tetris is a lot of fun and Ultra Street Fighter II is an update to one of my favorite games of all time!

Fatal Fury II PC Engine CD and Paranoia Hu Card for the PC Engine from my local game store.

It looks like everyone is starting to clear these themed Wiimote Plus controllers, I already had Mario & Luigi so grabbed these two. I have Yoshi on the way and will pick up a Princess Peach soon.

A BestBuy branded NES Classic  controller on clearance (I have more of these and the extension cables on the way) and an after market NES controller, both on the cheap!

MOAR AMIIBO!!

Lucio & Diva Funko Pops, um yes!

Guardians of the Galaxy II Baby Groot and a Star Trek 50th anniversary NCC-1701!

Something to test out 4K Blu-ray, wow what a movie!

NYC 2017: Nintendo NYC!

Figures, Nintendo, Sony

Another trip to NYC this year and per usual we managed to hit up Nintendo NYC almost every day. 🙂

While there I managed to take a bunch of pictures (I am bad at this), they remodeled the store last year and with the recent launch of the Nintendo Switch everything is geared towards the new console at the moment.

I also managed to record some video but I will need to review the results and if salvageable I will get it edited and uploaded.

My new wallet!

The Star Power Mario was purchased at Nintendo NYC while the Barbossa was picked up at a small game store.

A random figure that they had sitting in the Zelda area of the store, Wind Waker figure from Japan? Sure..

More additions to my keychain collection, unfortunately these were the only two that they had available.

Part of the 3D Art Cell Zelda series, I believe there are 6 all together.

Limited Edition BOTW shirts!

A nice PlayStation shirt from Kinokuniya New York.

A couple The Walking Dead shirts from House of The Dead in Pittsburgh.

Long time no post!

Another couple months have past by and I have had quite a few pickups so onto it!

Pickups from July.

Amiibo, Collecting, Figures, Nintendo

Another month has gone by with nothing too exciting to report on but I continue to pickup the slow trickle of Amiibo coming out and Disney Infinity as the sales allow.

I am unfortunately seeing an issue with random .mp3 audio files on the stream so I have switched things back to Sega Genesis tracks only which are .flac, not sure what might be causing this issue but I haven’t had a chance to narrow it down.

IMG_2019Best Buy had a Black Friday in July sale which when combined with the GCU discount brought this game down into the $27 range and an obvious grab!
